Courses for Cooks & Gardeners at Taste-Italia

There’s never been a better time to grow your own food. If you have only a handkerchief of a plot, with some careful planning

you would be amazed how productive you can be.

At Taste Italia we believe you can eat fresh from your garden all year around and why should I? I hear you ask.

You will agree that fresh food is better in Taste than its processed equivalent

It has a higher Vitamin content and ensures your diet is both healthy and sustainable.

Processed foods particularly breads are known to contribute to digestive problems

It has not been chemical  sprayed with pesticides and growth agents,

With world food prices set to rise as shortages start to bite It will save you money

and give you a degree of independence.

Taste Italia is particularly interested in Wild food as we are surrounded by edible plants and herbs

that can be added to our overall diet

Last September in the company of two Funghi experts we walked the Meadows and woods surrounding the School

we collected baskets of morels and champignons ceps and the highlight of  our day discovered a meadow of Wild Sorrell

which we cooked to produce the most fantastic flavoursome soup.

To the gardeners amongst you , Mike Thurloe  The Head gardener from Audley End  the English Heritage stately home in Saffron Walden

will be visiting us in March, to give  tips on growing healthy fruits and Vegetables

without chemical fertilizers.
